Welcome to the fifth wave of the Harvard & Radcliffe Class of 1977 Longitudinal Study!

We've taken a number of steps to ensure security and confidentiality in the survey. For example, this website sends encrypted information, like when you use a credit card online.

While this is a longitudinal study, which requires us to keep track of your individual identities, we ensure ongoing anonymity by keeping your identity and your data in separate locations. No one involved in this study has access to both the survey responses and the identifying information. Basically, your Class representatives keep a file linking names to coded IDs, but then the scientific team keeps the survey data - neither group has the ability to link identifying information to survey responses. Therefore, in the ordinary course of our study, your survey responses will remain absolutely confidential and anonymous.

Your participation is of course completely voluntary, and you can answer whichever questions you feel like answering. Some questions in the survey require answers to continue with the survey, because some later questions are asked or not asked depending on your responses to earlier questions - for example, if you indicate that you have children, you will be asked follow-up questions later about your children. Of course, the quality of the study depends on the quality of your answers, so we would appreciate answers that are as complete and honest as possible.

The survey has been designed to work well with Internet Explorer on Windows platforms and the FireFox and Safari browsers on Macintosh platforms. We'd appreciate it if you don't use the back-button to try to review questions you've already answered, but instead move through the survey in order.
